The icon, updated. An evolution of the ergonomic revolution.
Designing an office chair that combines great ergonomics, cross performance, sustainability and compatibility with all body types is no small feat. When Bill Stumpf and Don Chadwick set out to do just that, they designed something the world had never seen before. The Aeron was one of the first chairs to make a quantum leap in terms of ergonomics and material innovation by offering superior comfort without resorting to the usual suspects: foam, cloth or leather. By showing people what an office chair could be and what feelings it could evoke, the Aeron quickly earned a spot in pop culture.
Its iconic shapes are largely unaltered, but under the hood, the Aeron is completely redesigned to stand up to the demands of the modern working environment. Aided by the original designer, Don Chadwick, the chair has been given a thorough update. This was done based on the latest scientific research in the areas of sitting, ergonomics and the development of new materials and production techniques.
A completely new Aeron with a positive health impact and little to no impact on the environment.
The design principles for the completely new Aeron are the same as they ever were. Just as iconic films and albums are updated for new mediums, standards, and audiences, the Aeron has been remastered for a new generation by combining Don Chadwick’s original vision and Herman Miller’s latest research around the science of sitting, advancements in materials, manufacturing, technology and today’s world of work.
